  I've read all of the reviews and in all honesty, I can't believe any of the positive ratings are real. More than likely Lewis, the host, either created the accounts or had his friends and family write them.
  
  Lewis, the host, is condescending, and egotistical, and fancies himself to be an expert of every subject. It's kind of funny, but it stops being funny when he interjects himself into every conversation, or random meeting. It becomes very annoying and offensive. Read the MANY negative reviews that have been left over the years and you will see that most of them include comments and observations similar to mine.
  
  While taking a walk behind the house, we looked into a rear window, which was the kitchen window, and were horrified at the condition and lack of cleanliness in a room where food is prepared. Dirty pots and pans were strewn all over. Open and used packages of food were all over as were utensils. I can't imagine eating or drinking anything that came from that kitchen.
  
  Our room was on the first floor. There was really no security and the only way to lock the door was from the inside, and that was a $2.00 slide bolt. We travel with laptops, cameras, and cell phones. I was reluctant to leave any valuables in the room unattended and locked them up in the car.
  
  Our room was dirty beyond reasonable understanding. There were dead bugs in cobwebs on the ceiling and on the floor at the baseboard. Walls were dirty as though they had not been painted or even washed in years. They were cracked and the ancient wallpaper borders were curling up.
  
  There was a "closet" in our room that was previously padlocked but that was unsecured. On investigation, we found that it lead to the basement. Since it was unsecured, anyone could enter our room via the basement.
  
  The bathroom had no towels or soap and the sink, soap dish, and bathtub were stained and the faucets were encrusted with what looked like a thick layer of soap scum, or mold. Can you imagine a bed and breakfast offering no towels or at least a bar of soap to its guests!!!
  
  The bedroom had many windows, some of which could not be closed properly and did not afford us any privacy.
  
  The bed had duct tape and plastic wrap over the mattress and smelled like a homeless person had made camp on it. We slept in our clothes, on top of the sheets, and after we left, we washed up in a nearby Stewarts.
  
  There was no heat in the room. (No A/C either as advertised but it was chilly) We were given a small space heater which did nothing at all to warm the room.
  
  We've stayed and many B&B's over the years and have never encountered such a terrible, dirty establishment, or the likes of Lewis Harrison.
  
  The only reason we stayed the night was that finding other accommodations without reservations was difficult (and we tried... we really really tried).
  
  Lewis will refute this review, as he has done with others I have left, and say it's a wonderful place, and attack me and my veracity. Photos don't lie. I have plenty more and a video that I can't post here. The video is shows the really deplorable condition of the place.
  
  When I requested a refund, he refused.
